Back to Nintendo
Been awhile. What's new? Went back home to Seattle for the month of February. It was great to spend time with people I missed, like my sister and friends. And, spent the month of March with Anna, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry. Also, started going to the gym regularly and my quest to quit smoking is working slowly.
Also, I just started working for Nintendo in Japan (that's an old pic). Before, I really wanted time off, but I didn't realize that I wouldn't like having nothing to do. So, I'm happy to return as a contractor.
The tough part though is the commute. From our place in North Kobe to Kyoto takes over 2 hours door to door. And 4 trains that I take go through the busiest routes, through Kobe, Osaka, and finally to Kyoto. So, the train ride is a packed, standing room only deal both ways. Plus, the balance of fastest/cheapest option costs about $40 roundtrip.
So, I'm thinking about moving to Kyoto for awhile. Anna and I knew that we wouldn't get much time together on the weekdays anyway. She gets home around 9:45-10:45, depending on whether she goes to the gym. And with my work hours, I'd just only have time to sleep. So, we'll see, but I'm really happy to be working again. It's been a dream of mine to work for Nintendo in Japan.
